Southern Women's League - Eton 

Guildford and Godalming Athletic Club’s women’s team notched up a fourth victory in their Southern Women’s Premier league match at Eton.

Final scores were- Guildford and Godalming 173, Oxford City 131, Victoria/Tower Hamlets 123, and North Devon 77.

Pride of place must go to Holly Stroud who won all four senior A string throwing events- the hammer, shot put, discus and javelin. Team manager, Sophia Head, made it a clean sweep for the Gees in three of the events winning the B string hammer, shot and discus.  Amy de Beaux and Annabel Sharpe won the A and B pole vault, both girls clearing 2m 50.  De Beaux and Vicky Maguire paired up to win the high jump and to cap a good day De Beaux set a new best of 10m 42 in the triple jump.

On the track Maguire won the A 400m hurdles and Elly Ball the 100m before the middle distance girls took charge winning all their races. Chloe Crossman and Sophie Storey won the A and B 800m and Joanna Klaptocz and Rebecca Pritchard the 1500m. Rosie Hiles and Eleanor Harrison made big improvements to their lifetime bests in winning the A and B 3000m.  Hiles won the A race in 10.20.4 and Harrison the B race in 11.01.1 knocking nineteen seconds off her best.

There were wins for the Under 15 girls too. Rebecca Robinson set a lifetime best in winning the A 1500m in 5.30 and followed this with a win in the A javelin. Gaby Cooper who is still Under 13 won the B 1500 and Bobbie Seavill hurled her javelin out to a new best to win the B event. Pippa Monk, another Under 13 girl distinguished herself by winning the A high jump at 1m 40 with Seavill winning the B event.

Jessica Hall won the A long jump with Hannah Knights taking the B event.  On the track Rebecca Dingemans won the A 800m and Lizzie Foster the A 75m hurdles and the final victory of the day came from the Under 15 sprint relay team of Knights, Hannah Taylor, Seavill and Hall.

The Gees remain in second place in the league behind Reading whom they will meet in their last match on September 3rd at Basildon.
