A GGAC ladies team was invited to the HW 5K road race on the tough Wimbledon Park course yesterday.
Having been tipped off by Chloe that Hercules Wimbledon were organising a team race, the ladies managed to blag themselves an entry.
Due to the late notice a lot of people weren’t available but we still managed to field a team of 6.
It was great to be racing again and see many familiar faces.
The race was very well organised with separate ladies and men’s races and small groups starting at 1 minute intervals with the fastest runners setting off first.
This was a test event and Hercules Wimbledon AC are hoping to organise another event with a few tweaks.
Our thanks to everyone at Hercules Wimbledon and the hard work they put in to get clubs racing again.
First home for us was Chloe Crossman in 18:57, followed by Nici Cahusac (19:57), Susanna Harrison (20:58), Michelle Oldham (21:38), Cecilia Siruffo (21:39) and Michelle Collins (23:15).
